Ziad has over 21 years of relevant financial experience in the firm's areas of activity. He has held top positions at international and regional investment banks and financial institutions, starting with JP Morgan in New York (1986) and Elf Aquitaine in Geneva (1990), then moving to the Middle East to co-found Lebanon Invest (1995), and the Middle-East Capital Group, the region's first merchant bank with a pan-Arab focus in 1996.

Mohieddine Kronfol
Managing Director, Asset Management
Mr. Kronfol has over 14 years of relevant experience in financial services including a 6 year track record in regional fixed income markets and founding roles in 3 start up businesses. Mohieddine was previously the Head of SHUAA Capital's Debt Asset Management Department, Head of its Capital Markets Department as well as the Fund Manager of The Arab Income Fund (TAIF).

Joe Kawkabani
Managing Director, Asset Management
Joe heads up the Equity Asset Management business at Algebra Capital. He has an 8 year track record in the region directly relevant to the designated activities. He joined the equity asset management department of Shuaa Capital in November 2000 and rapidly rose to head their Equity Asset Management business.

Jacques Visser
Managing Director, Legal & Compliance
Jacques was admitted to legal practice in 1995. His qualifications include a Master's Degree in Banking and Exchange Law. Mr. Visser has over 12 years of relevant experience in banking and finance and, more particularly, in the areas of structured and corporate finance, investment banking and treasury based products and instruments.

Managing Director, Sales & Distribution
Daniel has over 28 years of relevant experience in the Financial Services Industry and has been involved in the MENA region for over 20 of those years. Prior to committing to Algebra Capital, Daniel moved to Dubai 2 years ago to set up and manage Deutsche Bank's Asset Management business in the MENA region.

Alain Antoniades
Chief Operating Officer
Alain started his career in 1990 at Republic National Bank of New York in Montreal where he built skills in most areas of commercial banking. He held the position of Manager of Trading Operations until 1996. Prior to joining Algebra Capital in 2007, Alain was involved in setting up the operations at Middle East Capital Group in Beirut and later at SHUAA Capital in Dubai.

Julia Ward
Sales & Distribution
Julia joins Algebra Capital with 16 years of relevant experience as a senior salesperson focusing on institutional investors, within our target region and beyond. Prior to joining AC, Julia was head of the Institutional Sales Team in the Asset Management division of SHUAA Capital, specifically focusing on attracting International Institutions, but her client base also included the top institutions from the GCC.

Fatima Asad
Sales & Distribution
Fatima is joining the Sales and Distribution department with over 4 years of experience.
Fatima previously worked at EFG Bank in Dubai in the investment advisory department, in charge of product analysis and client relations.
Prior to joining the EFG Bank, Fatima worked at Shuaa Capital PSC as an equity trader in the Asset Management department and at Berkshire Securities in Montreal as an Investment Adviser.

Rami Khalaf
Associate Vice President, Operations
Rami started his career in 1999 with ABN Amro Bank in Dubai. Prior to joining Algebra Capital in 2007, Rami worked in Brokerage and Asset Management Operations for over 6 years at SHUAA Capital and then at Middle East Financial Brokerage Company and Al Mal Capital as Operations Manager.

Salah Shamma

Salah Shamma has over 7 years of relevant experience in regional asset management. Prior to joining Algebra Capital, Salah worked at Shuaa Capital’s Debt Asset Management department in Dubai. At Shuaa, he co-managed the first Arab fixed income fund (TAIF) and was actively involved in the firm’s capital markets' dealings.

Bassel Khatoun has over 7 years of relevant financial services experience. Prior to joining Algebra Capital, Bassel worked at Citigroup’s Investment Banking Division in London. At Citigroup, he worked on the origination and execution of mergers and acquisitions, debt and equity mandates across the European financial institutions sector.

Prior to joining Algebra, Ziad worked for 6 years at Citigroup Investment Banking Division in London where he was involved in the analysis and execution of major M&A, Equity and Debt transactions. While at Citigroup, Ziad’s geographical coverage included Central Eastern Europe, but focused mainly on the Middle East and North Africa.
Ziad holds a Masters in Management from the ESCP-EAP and a Bachelors Degree in Economics and English from the University of Paris.
